“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1  “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” Genesis 1:2.

Day is capitalized because it is in the Amplified version of the Bible.  Question:  if the earth and water were present before the first Day and the Lord said, in Genesis 1:20, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth…” and in verse 24 God says, “Let the land produce living creatures…livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals…” then were the building blocks for these creatures present in the earth that was formless before that first Day?
