This post takes us out of Job to look at dread since Beth Moore brought it up yesterday. I did not get to attend her periscope and thought I’d like to touch on the subject anyway. It is she, and my life group, who taught me to pray the scriptures so when I am afraid these are the things I think on:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, Proverbs 9:10. Another study will have to discuss Jesus as wisdom but a careful reading of Proverbs brings the reader to that conclusion.
Biblegateway lists 82 entries for “fear not” in the NIV and 145 entries in the AMP – I read them, all.
Psalm 9:9 if it is not listed above.
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him…, Nahum 1:7.
The eyes of the Lord roam to and fro to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him, 2 Chronicles 16:9.
Speaking of trust, it is listed 170 times in the NIV and in the AMP 313 times.
“Trust in the Lord” is listed 56 times in the NIV and 80 times in the AMP.
Lean not on your own understanding but trust in the Lord….Proverbs 3:5-6.
May you know the peace of Christ today and may your heart be garrisoned by Christ Himself!
