The presence of God is our reward

The presence of God is our reward.  That is where the banquet will be held, Matthew 22 and Hebrews 12:22-24; that is where our future home will be.  That is where the saints will gather.  See?  David said he would rather be the doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than dwell with the wicked, Psalm 84.  Me too.

The writer of Colossians 1:16 tells us all things were created by Christ for Christ.  That means I was created for Christ – created to be with Him.  The writer of Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him.   My soul was created to yearn for Him, for His presence, Ecclesiastes 3:11 and Luke 10:42.  [Update] Paul tells us, Ephesians 1:11, that were chosen in Him before the creation of the world.

In the movie, Jerry Maguire Renee Zellweger’s character says to Tom Cruise’s character, “You complete me”.  I believe this resonates with us because we were made to be  complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10.  Nothing else will do.
